Energieversorgung Oberhausen AG (EVO) is a regional energy supplier and reliable partner for the city of Oberhausen and the surrounding area. With around 110,000 electricity customers, around 27,000 gas customers and the supply of heat to around 50,000 residents, EVO plays a central role in the region’s energy supply. In addition to the traditional supply of electricity, gas and heat, EVO also offers energy-related services, including photovoltaic solutions, electromobility, energy certificates, thermography and individual renovation roadmaps. With around 430 employees, EVO not only ensures a secure and sustainable energy supply, but also supports innovative solutions for the energy transition and the sustainable future of Oberhausen.
The Task: Making the Vision Tangible
As part of a new, forward-looking corporate vision and strategy developed by the Executive Board team, the company is setting clear guidelines and pursuing seven top goals that will pave the way to a more sustainable and smarter future. This vision was shared with all employees in intensive workshops to show that each and every individual plays a crucial role in this transformation process.
To accompany the introductory workshops, a big picture was created that makes the strategic guidelines, the top goals and the new vision tangible. It connects EVO with the city and makes it clear that its role as a supplier goes far beyond the provision of energy: EVO is an integral part of Oberhausen’s future, ensuring progress, security and quality of life.
Implementation: The Big Picture Makes the Joint Path to the Future Visible
After an intensive briefing, the provision of image material and comprehensive background information, ideas were continuously worked on together in several rounds of coordination until a coherent visualization could finally be developed and implemented. The client attached particular importance to depicting the city as well as the EVO headquarters and administration building in the right light. The creatives at Big Pictury therefore produced various designs for the client to choose from.
The finished Big Picture was distributed to all employees in paper form and hung as an XXL installation on acrylic glass in the central locations of the company, so that EVO’s new vision and common goals can be seen every day. It serves as a constant reminder that all employees play a decisive role in the future of Oberhausen. Also available digitally on the intranet as a “click picture”, it is intended to keep the mission and responsibility for the city alive and make the shared path to a more sustainable future visible.
